How is my home exchange make-over going? Glad you asked.

My new home is a completely unrenovated two room apartment in a turn of the century tenement building.

The foot-thick plaster walls and high ceilings keep it cool even during the heat wave we have recently had here.

More important is that it faces the garden at the rear of the building as is quiet.

That is significant sure to the fantastic neighborhood. There is exciting nightlife the moment you step outside. We can enjoy free live music every night of the week at the restaurants and bars that line our street.

This new apartment is everything a Roofswapper could want. If she could stand the day-glo green paint, that is.

Yes, this place needs an Extreme RoofSwap Makeover. It is not ready for the discerning roofswapper.

I have been following my own advice, published here two weeks ago (check the archive).

The first thing we did was throw out or donate anything we didn't expect to use often. Reducing clutter is a crucial step in creating a welcoming roofswap.

Then we cleaned. And cleaned. And cleaned again.

Now we have a blank canvas. Check back here for weekly updates as a swap home is born.
