ROOFSWAP.COM TO DONATE FUNDS TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL

Ten percent of all proceeds to benefit the underprivileged

October 1, 2009 – New York, New York. RoofSwap.com, the Internet’s fastest growing home exchange website, has announced it will donate ten percent of all proceeds to Habitat for Humanity International to create homes for the underprivileged so they, too, can someday fulfill their travel dreams.

“We are honored to be working with Habitat for Humanity in this capacity so that people of all economic backgrounds can one day enjoy the advantages of a home exchange vacation,” says Christopher Santini, Chief Operating Officer of RoofSwap.com. “We believe that By contributing our share, some families will be able to obtain their first home and with that the potential to exchange it for a period of time and fulfill another dream – a vacation. All of that can be that through home exchange and we believe that our site RoofSwap.com should lead this effort”.

A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. To accomplish these goals, the organization invites people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

“To date, Habitat for Humanity has built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. We want to participate in this important work” says Santini.

According to Nicole Frank, the site’s Advise Columnist, 37 percent of travelers surveyed recently by TripAdvisor said they will vacation at a rental property in the coming year, up from 34 percent last year. “And although only one percent of respondents has experienced a house swap vacation, 43 percent would, if given the right opportunity," she adds.

“First and foremost is the fact that a home exchange offers a viable alternative to expensive hotels, and usually provides a more complete vacation since there are many more amenities at your disposal,” Santini say. “Also, home exchanges are often located off the beaten path of the selected city, thus affording vacationers the opportunity to experience the distinct culture of each destination.”

Backed by Stonehome Capital LLC, a Venture Capital firm based in New York City, RoofSwap is designed to provide vacationers with a unique and affordable vacation experience. With over 46 years of house swapping experience to draw upon, along with listings throughout the world, officials at RoofSwap understand that home exchangers want to be part of large network that allows them diverse travel options. “As such, we’ve combined the power of several sites and developed the web’s most user-friendly interface to make house swapping simple, fun and secure,” explains Santini.
