Once you have finalized the details of your home exchange with the other party, it is advisable to put the key terms and mutual understandings in writing in order to avoid any confusion. We have put together for you an easy-to-use agreement that you can print or email to your house swapping partner by using the icons on the top right corner.

The parties agree to exchange their owned homes during the period of _______________ to
_____________ (inclusive). In addition, we agree to:

  1. Treat the owner’s home in the same manner we expect him/her to treat ours.
  2. Provide the names and telephone numbers of the following people that can be contacted in case of emergency:
    1. A local close friend
    2. Service provider (i.e. handyman, superintendant)
  3. Provide each other with detailed operational instructions for the key appliances in our homes (alarm, washer/dryer etc.).
  4. Make room for each other's personal belongings (i.e. drawer, wardrobe space).
  5. Not to use the owner's phone Or reimburse all calls charged to the owner's phone during our stay (select one option), while all other utilities will be paid by the owner.
  6. Cover any small repairs or damages that happen due to our fault.
  7. Replace basic food staples and paper products we use.
  8. Make sure that all bed linen and towels are clean and put away before we leave.
  9. Water the plants periodically per the owner's instructions
