Do you leave a gift after you complete a swap? What should I budget for this? What kind of gift do you leave?

I always bring along or leave behind an illustrated book from our area. So they have a little memory of the holidays. the exchangers seemed to like it. When kids are involved I usually leave a little 'something' to play with.

Sometimes we take something characteristic of our home area to leave in the exchange home, but not always. Usually just a token gift with a value of not more than $50.

Yes. I think you should always leave a thank you gift after you complete your swap. There is not budget as long it is thoughtful. My last home swap was in Florida and I left a bottle of red wine.
