RoofSwap Forum - When do you ask for a telphone number?

In the past i have asked for telephone number in one of the first few email communications and never received an answer. I believe the other party would have been more responsive if we were communicating more before i asked for their phone. anyone knows from their experience how many emails do you need to send before asking for a phone number?

It's a gut instinct, as with everything about home exchange. You usually have to be pretty far into the process in most cases to ask for a phone number, especially of people not in the United States. But DO always make sure you speak on the phone at least a few times before setting out on your trip. Again, Skype or an international calling card will keep the expense down.
