Sydney is a great place to learn to surf. You could learn to surf literally across the road from your swap home. Or you could have a surf tour pick you up and take you over sand dunes to an uncrowded beach just out of Sydney. Finally, you can even take a 5 day tour from Sydney to Byron Bay that stops at many beaches along the way. All schools cater for first time surfers and will provide you with surfboards and wetsuits. Ask your home exchange partners about surfing options near them. What other fun activities can we base a home exchange around?

If I do a home exchange in Australia my main interest is seeing wildlife. I was told that wallabees are in the south and kangaroos are in the north. So I would probably do two exchanges in Australia, or more. If I go there I want to see many different areas.
